Following on from our successful Winter, Spring and Medieval Camps - Space Camp!

StagePlay’s Space Camp is a 4-day intensive drama and visual art workshop for primary aged children in Melbourne's west. The last day will finish with a performance for parents and carers. Each child will receive an activity book to fill in throughout the week, plus a certificate of participation!

Where: Kororoit Creek Neighbourhood House, 61A Selwyn St, ALBION 3020

When: 4 day workshop: Monday 8th April – Thurs 11th April 2019,  9am - 3pm each day. Final performance 4pm Thurs 10 Jan.

Cost:
Regular fee: $315 (20% off for siblings and concession)
Super early bird fee: $280 payable by 5th March.

Please note: The program is designed to build on each day's activities, so attendance is required for the full 4 days. This allows the children to get the most out of the workshop, and we can create an amazing final presentation.

About:
This term the theme is Space! Every day will feature workshops of drama and art. Some sessions will combine the two, others will break off and focus on a particular act or set. Warm up activities and brainstorming will be the the focus on the first day.

A silly little video from our Medieval Camp, Summer 2019.

In Drama Jessica will use games and improvisation in a confidence building way to lead into rehearsals of a fun “playlet” around our Medieval theme for Summer Camp. The great thing about doing a performance at the end of the workshop is that the children are able to share what they have achieved. Jessica loves to take her students ideas on board. Experience has shown her that children have fantastic ideas, so not only will the children enjoy performing but creating as well. Once the students feel that performance joy at the end of the week - it is never forgotten! The ability to be brave, share and engage is a skill that serves us well in all aspects of life.

In the Visual Arts Liz will work with the children to build their skills in creative thinking and brainstorming,  as well as drawing, painting, sewing, collage and 3D object making in both collaborative and individual works.  Workshops will include creating props such as painted signs, larger sets using cardboard boxes and curtains, and costume making and creating out of found objects and clothing.
